The year 2011 was a period of economic and political turmoil. Around the world the global crisis is being felt, with protests growing in different countries as people experience worsening unemployment and inequality. The Philippines, faced with political troubles like the Corona impeachment and Arroyo arrest, is not spared from the effects of the global crisis.
The country’s prospects amid these conditions will be discussed in the IBON Birdtalk, a semestral briefing on the economic and political assessment and trends. The briefing will be on January 19, 1 pm at the Bocobo Hall Penthouse, UP Law Center, Diliman, Quezon City (Behind the UP College of Law) and January 20, 1pm at the Malcolm Hall Theater of the UP College of Law.
