YES FOR PEACE is a paper and ink revolution – supplemented by a web-based open e-referendum – of the sovereign Filipino people to push for a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Philippines.
YES FOR PEACE – Bayanihan Para sa Kapayapaan is an open, inclusive and participatory peace advocacy and education campaign to establish a national consensus for peace — among Filipinos ten (10) years and older.
YES FOR PEACE – Bayanihan Para sa Kapayapaan started as youth and student sector initiative and developed into a multi-sectoral campaign in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost).
Two Million Four Hundred Thirty Nine Thousand One Hundred Four (2,439,104) Filipinos participated from May 15 to September 16, 1997; Three Hundred Thirty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Seven (334,807) responded to the campaign from October 10, 2008 to November 15, 2009; and more or less Seven Hundred Twenty Thousand (720,000) responses were generated from November 05, 2010 to January 24, 2011.
